In January 2002, Roger started work fairing and painting yachts in Italy and progressed to Team Leader and Project Manager for vessels ranging in size from 30m to 60m. In 2006 his work expanded to numerous yards across Europe and the USA, continuing as a Team Leader and Project Manager for vessels increasing in scale from 40m to 120m. In 2010 Roger became a Senior Inspector/Consultant, primarily in the large new builds and refits sector, for vessels ranging from 40m to 180m. 2019 onwards, his knowledge and experience have culminated in working for a major European shipyard at different locations as their in-house Paint Consultant/Paint Manager, working closely with contractors, yards, and paint manufacturers.

Ian Cleaver

In 1999 Ian started work within the UK marine engineering industry in steel fabrication and precision welding. In 2002 he moved to the yacht fairing & painting sector; he then progressed in 2007 to a British Superyacht Shipyard as Quality Control Supervisor for all fairing, painting, internal tanks, voids, and machinery spaces. From 2016 to date, Ian has worked as a FROSIO-qualified Project Manager/Coatings Consultant on large vessels ranging from 80 to 150m. Along with new build and refit projects in Europe, he carries out detailed inspection work from initial steelwork, corrosion, substrate preparation & coating to final topcoat.

Andrew Robinson

In 2002 Andrew started with a yacht fairing and painting company in Italy. He has vast experience and specialism in filler and coatings applications. He became a foreman with the paint contracting company for an impressive 15 years. Andrew is an RMCI-qualified Paint Inspector since 2015 and has worked for various leading paint consultancy companies throughout Europe.

Nathan Frew

Nathan Frew

In January 2002, Nathan began working fairing and painting yachts in Italy, specialising in the complete process from steel preparation to final top-coating. In 2007 he was accredited in New Zealand with a Diploma in Cons. Tech - including extensive work with drawings and plans. Nathan returned to the yacht painting industry in 2008 and to Italy, working for a yacht painting company in logistics, planning and admin. Since 2016, he has been in Inspection and Consultancy work on various large vessel projects ranging from 80 to 160m in Northern Europe.

Robin Thorpe

In 2003 Robin studied Boat Design and production at a marine school in the south of England. In 2005 he completed the Surface Finishing Apprenticeship and continued to progress as a Team Leader working on various projects in different locations abroad. In 2014 Robin worked (certified) maintaining and finishing military helicopters and fighter jets.

Garth Sterndale

In March 2004, Garth began working for a yacht fairing and painting company and completed surface preparation work from steel through to topcoat. In 2006 he started crew work as a deckhand using his finishing experience to maintain and repair several yachts (including a 1-year refit + modification) he worked on over an 11-year period.
